WHOIS Privacy Protection — Keep Your Data Private

Shield your name, email, phone number, and address from public WHOIS lookups. Included free with eligible domain renewals.

What is WHOIS Privacy?

When you register a domain, your contact details are typically published in the public WHOIS database — accessible to anyone, including marketers, scammers, and data harvesters. WHOIS Privacy replaces your personal information with anonymized proxy contact details while keeping you as the legal domain owner.

What's protected

  • Registrant name and organization
  • Email address and phone number
  • Mailing address and city
  • Administrative and technical contact details

What's still visible

  • Domain name and registration/expiration dates
  • Registrar name (Renovarix Ltd.)
  • Nameserver information
  • Domain status codes (e.g., clientTransferProhibited)
GDPR compliance: For EU residents, Renovarix automatically applies the maximum privacy protections permitted by each registry, in line with GDPR Article 5 and ICANN's Temporary Specification for gTLD Registration Data.

How to enable WHOIS Privacy

  1. Renew or transfer your domain through Renovarix.
  2. Go to My Domains → Domain Settings → Privacy.
  3. Toggle WHOIS Privacy to enabled.
  4. Changes take effect within 24 hours across most registries.

Important legal notice

WHOIS Privacy does not affect your ownership rights. Renovarix will disclose your identity to law enforcement, courts, or trademark dispute panels (UDRP) when legally required. You remain fully responsible for the content and use of your domain.
